


Moya is an island in the stockholm archipelago and I spent three days there birding in May. A wonderful place, full of breeding birds in summer. Redwings were found in small numbers singing from pine trees, whilst the lakes in the north held the wonderful Black-throated Diver, their calls echoed around the island in the evenings. Wryneck was a lucky find, as always inobtrusive, the bird was sunning itself in some rocks and gave itself away by way of a small movement. Never a bird you find when you want to, rather the bird finds you....
